A social media firm located in San Francisco, California, is called Twitter, Inc. The business runs the social networking and microblogging platform Twitter. It has previously run the Periscope livestreaming platform and the Vine short video app.

Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams founded Twitter in March 2006, and it went live in July of that same year. By 2012, Twitter had over 100 million active users who sent 340 million tweets daily, and the site processed 1.6 billion daily search requests on average. In November 2013, the business went public. By 2019, there were more than 330 million active monthly users on Twitter.

One of the largest agreements to take a firm private will be Twitter’s $44 billion acquisition by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, on April 25, 2022. On July 8, Musk cancelled the agreement. As a result of a decline in Twitter’s stock price, business representatives sued Musk on July 12 in Delaware’s Chancery Court. The transaction was finalised on October 27.
