UK Email Lists: What they contain and where each one comes from

A UK email list is a file of business contact records for organisations registered or trading in the United Kingdom, each row carrying a named contact, a job title, a work email address and the firmographics of their employer. This page is the index for every UK file we hold: it defines the terms, states where the records come from, sets out what the law requires of you before you send, and routes you to the specific dataset that matches your targeting. It sells nothing directly — pricing and ordering live on the individual dataset pages linked below.

A file of UK business contact records you buy once and use in your own sending tool. Named contact, job title, work email, employer firmographics.

A live prospecting platform with search, credits and CRM sync. That is a subscription product; several are listed in the comparison below and one may suit you better.

not this page

A UK consumer email list. Held separately, governed differently, and not included in any count on this page.

What this page covers, and what it does not

Three different things get called a “UK email list”, and conflating them wastes money. This page covers the first only, and routes you to the dataset that matches your targeting. It sells nothing directly.

What's in the UK B2B Email Database?

The database contains 11 available fields. Field completeness varies by record, so the published fill rate is shown where it has been established rather than presenting every field as universally available.

The database is structured around business contact information rather than a collection of unsupported consumer fields. LinkedIn URLs may be supplied as a field where available; LinkedIn is not presented as a source of the underlying database.

How Is the UK Email Database Verified?

Email verification is performed using established third-party verification engines, including ZeroBounce, NeverBounce and equivalent providers, rather than relying solely on in-house scripts.

Each email address passes through a seven-stage verification process:

Verification check Result
Syntax validation Malformed addresses removed
Domain and MX verification Unreachable domains removed
Disposable-domain screening

Disposable addresses removed

Spam-trap and honeypot screening Higher-risk addresses removed
SMTP mailbox verification Rejected addresses removed
Role-account detection Role addresses flagged separately
Catch-all classification Accept-all domains identified

The verification pipeline classifies addresses into four states:

A standard UK order contains Valid records. Accept-all and Role records can be supplied as separately labelled segments where requested, allowing buyers to make their own decision about whether and how heavily to use those records.

The database is re-run through the verification pipeline before delivery. Unsubscribe requests, complaint addresses, erasure requests and known-litigator entries are maintained on a global suppression file and screened from future builds. Buyers can also submit their own suppression file for exclusion before delivery.

The latest full UK verification date should be displayed from the internal verification log before publication.

UK Industry, Role and Governorate Coverage

The current inventory contains 810,951 business records. Industry classification is available for 42.7% of the database, while governorate information is available for 100% of records.

What the File is Made of

Counts below are records held, each against its denominator, as at 13 August 2026. Every row links to the dataset page that owns it — that page states the full composition, this one does not repeat it.

UK LinkedIn data

Every address passes seven checks before dispatch — syntax, domain, MX, mailbox acceptance at SMTP level, role-address flagging, deduplication and screening against our permanent suppression file — and each record is graded on what it survived. The UK email database page states the method in full. The last full pass completed on 13 August 2026, and any list cut from the file is re-verified again on the day it is dispatched.

Standard files are up to 85% verified against seven checks; a 99% build is available if arranged before you order. No provider can honestly claim 100%, because people change jobs every day.

Where These Records Come From

Three collection streams, and every record carries a tag identifying which one it came from. Ask and we will tell you the stream mix in the file you are buying — this is the question most vendors will not answer, and the one that decides whether you can defend the purchase later.

Permission-based collection

Sign-ups, registrations and enquiries where the contact supplied their business details knowingly. The smallest stream and the cleanest.
Public web and registers

Company websites, Companies House filings and trade directories. Firmographics come from here more often than contact detail does.

Licensed data partners
Bought under written agreement with warranties on collection. Every record carries the partner tag and you can ask which is in your file.

How the UK providers compare

Entry costs as publicly reported. Rows where a competitor is the better buy stay in — if you prospect daily and need live search, a subscription platform beats a one-time file and we would rather say so here than after you have paid.

How to Check a Vendor Before you pay — Including us

Six checks. Run all six on us as readily as on anyone else; two of them are places where our own answer is a limitation rather than a feature.

01

Where did these addresses come from?

Three named streams, with a source tag on every record. A vendor who cannot answer this cannot help you defend the purchase later.

02

When was each record last verified?

Ask for the date, not the adjective. Ours sits on every row and the file is re-run on dispatch.

03

Can I see rows from the live file before paying?

One hundred, free, in the paid columns. A curated demo file is not the same thing.

04

What accuracy do you actually claim?

Any figure of 100% is a warning sign. Ours is up to 85% standard, 99% on request, arranged before you order.

05

Is there a live platform or an API?

Ours: no. This is a file, sold once. If you need live search or a refresh feed, buy a subscription instead — a real limitation, not a positioning choice.

06

What happens if the file underperforms?

Ours: hard bounces above 5% within seven days and the file is replaced or refunded. Spam placement and reply rate are not covered.

Who buys UK data, and what for

Running outbound for several clients at once, needing a file per client rather than seats per staff member.
Building a UK territory from scratch, where the constraint is sending capacity rather than data volume.
Working one vertical desk. Highest decay exposure of any buyer — re-verify before each campaign.
Market sizing and CRM enrichment, where firmographics matter more than the email address does.

If you need company records rather than named contacts, Companies House publishes the UK register free, in bulk, with no licence fee. It has no email addresses and no job titles — that gap is what you are paying us for. If a register download answers your question, use it and keep your money.

Questions & Answers

Is it legal to buy a UK email list?

Yes, with conditions. UK GDPR requires a lawful basis before you process the records, and for B2B outreach that is normally documented legitimate interests. PECR then governs the message itself. Corporate subscribers may be emailed on that basis; sole traders need a stronger footing.

3,000,000 business records as at 13 August 2026. Of those, 792,775 carry a classified job role; the rest are company records without an identified individual and are excluded from role-filtered lists.
Yes, and you should ask for the filtered count before ordering. Four filters deep, the honest answer is sometimes a number too small to be worth buying.
A flat $99 per file, once, whatever the record count. Inexpensive for a broad cut and poor value for a segment of a few hundred rows — we will tell you which you are asking for.
One hundred rows from the live file, free, in the same eleven columns as the paid version. No card and no call. Verify them with a tool we do not control.
A full verification pass runs monthly, and every list is re-verified on the day it is dispatched. Each row carries the date it last passed.
Only after screening against TPS and CTPS. Telephone and SMS are regulated separately from email.
If hard bounces exceed 5% within seven days of delivery, the file is replaced or refunded in full, whichever you prefer.
